Gettysburg Left Me Heavy. Then I Found This Open Road | Central Pennsylvania Motorcycle Ride
YouTube video by Meandering Miles - Meaningful Motorcycle Travel
New Travel Journal Episode
#Gettysburg left me heavy. Old Plank Road lifted me back up.
A cold November day in central Pennsylvania--a battlefield and a bend in a mountain that both changed the course of a country.

I started playing around with Resolve. So far too complicated for me.
I'm planning a trip up your way in June (NYC β Vermont β QuΓ©bec β GaspΓ© β Route 389 β Labrador β Newfoundland β Nova Scotia β PEI β New England β NYC)
BTW: I love your website design. Looking forward to Sunday's videos.

And, if you just want to capture GPS while you're riding, you don't actually need internet access for that. There are phone apps that can capture the GPS coordinates while you ride, even if you don't have Internet/maps.
Happy to help/chat if I can.

The Garmin unit isn't really necessary. I got it because I was going to be riding in places where there isn't cell service, and I wanted to have all the maps I might need.
Using Rever and/or Google Maps on your phone, you can, with a little tinkering, download maps ahead of time.

I generally use Rever for my trip planning, because I like doing that on the bigger screen of my laptop.
On the bike, I use Rever and/or my Garmin Zumo XT2 for Navigation and to create GPX files of my rides.
Then, I use TravelBoast to make the animated movie maps in my videos.

Super comfortable. I barely know I'm wearing it. I have back armor in my jacket, so I took it out of the vest.
I have the electronic version, so I have to charge it. Which is fine for me--a full charge has lasted me well over 9 hours of riding time.
Replacement cartridges are expensive, though.

Best experienced full screen, with the volume up.
Enjoy the ride. Unhurried and uniterrupted.

I do. I ride with a Helite E-Turtle2. I got it a few years ago, and I do like it. I do wish I had gotten the High-Vis version, though.

Love it seeing the videos in-process.
What's a US road you two have wanted to check out?
If I've ridden it and have good video of it, I'll try to do that one next.

YouTube video by Meandering Miles - Meaningful Motorcycle Travel
The Beartooth Highway had been on my bucket list for 25 years.
When I finally rode the Beartooth, it delivered everything I'd been hoping for, and a few things I wasn't expecting.

Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway (Idaho Route 21) | Road Story
YouTube video by Meandering Miles - Meaningful Motorcycle Travel
Idaho Route 21.
The Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway.
Fifty-three miles through the Boise National Forest β twisty, quiet, and unhurried.
Some roads demand attention.
Some reward it.
This one did both.

The Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park. Looking at the Weeping Wall.
My motorcycle in front of beautiful scenery on Route 95 in the Utah desert.
In the past week, 457 of you joined this quiet little ride.
A solo #motorcycle rider with a curiosity about the roads that linger is slowly becoming something shared.
There's 1,180 of us now.
Iβm so grateful you're riding along with me
There are still miles ahead.
Keep meandering. #motosky

I stopped a few times to catch my breath and when someone clearly wanted to go faster than me (like that mustang). That was the first βcliffyβ road Iβd done on that bike and on that trip. It was a little unnerving.
I chatted with the guy on the Harley for a bit. But didnβt take stills.

One lane. One way. 800-foot cliffs on both sides.
Skyline Drive in CaΓ±on City, Colorado.
It doesnβt really go anywhere β but youβll never forget it.

A Road That Rewarded Taking the Long Way | Clear Ridge Road, PA
YouTube video by Meandering Miles - Meaningful Motorcycle Travel
There was a faster way.
An easier way.
But I chose Clear Ridge Road β a quiet Butler G1 backroad in Pennsylvania β as part of a late-fall ride toward West Virginia.
After a short introduction, the road speaks for itself.

The PA Road I Usually Ride Past | Gold Mine Road
YouTube video by Meandering Miles - Meaningful Motorcycle Travel
Itβs freezing here in NYC, which has me thinking back to a ride I took in November.
While planning a trip south, I noticed Gold Mine Road in central PA--a Butler G1.
Iβd passed it by hundreds of times.
But not this time.
