A fluffed-up king quail

Red-colored acorn

This was taken using the partial color mode on a NEX-5R. The cracked acorn had turned a beautiful, vivid red. I’ve heard that this is due to anthocyanins. I hope it grows into a big tree someday.

Below the crag can be seen an alpine lake with its outlet stream looking very small as it flows into a steep stony canyon.

...and because someone is going to wonder why I didn't include something for scale... it wasn't exactly feasible.

This beautiful tree with its wonderful lichens, stood out across the River Inver....so I made it stand out a little more.

A gremlin doll made from paper mache, mulberry bark, and spun cotton, painted with acrylics. She is backpacking and carrying a walking stick (although as the doll isn't finished, it's a placeholder bamboo skewer), dressed in a ragged grey tunic. She has webbed duck-like feet or boots, which suggests an amphibious lifestyle, and huge gremlin ears with moss-green tips. She is tilting her head slightly and standing on off-white mulberry paper against a stone brick background also featuring dried heather twigs.

Haven't had much time to sculpt since I'm finally tackling some DIY home renovations I've been putting off. But since it's #WIPWednesday, here is a wayfaring gremlin I'm hoping to work more on soon :)

She still needs a comfy scarf, socks, and mitts, and a proper walking stick among other things!
