This week's episode of The AP Strange Show is a doozy as Dr. Cinzia Yates of @dodlestonresearch.bsky.social and I dig into one of the most puzzling cases of weirdness out there- mysterious time-traveling messages, poltergeist activity, possible non-human...

It does seem to be a theme with long running communications that you start off thinking you're communicating with one thing, usually the dead, and then the messages change so you discover you're actually talking to aliens or angels. This very much felt like part of that broad template. 2/2
Thanks AP it was a great listen. I noticed the coincidence of another guest, after your Gef episode, who had Isle of Man connections and had reached out to Allen Greenfield. Astonishing Legends have just been covering the Scole experiment and I was reminded of it here. 1/2
It's a great show Rick. I always listen to it and take lots from it.
Thanks AP, I enjoyed that. It raised many thoughts. One quick one: strange people think of this type of talk as "debunking" when FBI involvement, non lethal weapon testing, mind control, psy-ops and espionage actually makes all this stuff even weirder.
The best explanation I saw for why the Disclosure movement is misguided was phrased as something like UFOs aren't a mystery like an Agatha Christie or Sherlock Holmes that gets solved but instead the type of mystery you have to live through.

On this week's show I had a really great chat with writer and investigator Gayle Fidler, as we got into the esoteric nitty-gritty surrounding everyone's favorite freak- The Dalby Spook, the Eighth Wonder of the World- Gef the Talking Mongoose!

I did enjoy listening and was very taken with your idea that Gef heralded Hiroshima, somewhat like Mothman and the Silver Bridge collapse or, maybe more aptly, Carl Jung saying he could predict WW2 from analysing the dreams of his patients. Thanks as always AP!
Is it just me or does the audio version cut off mid sentence after 46 minutes?
Gef must be in the air. This month's Boggart and Banshee was focused on him too. I look forward to listening to your take on the extra clever mongoose
I think that being a physical object and not as popular as it once was suits it. Fortean coverage should be fringe, difficult to find and, as I'm increasingly convinced, offline.
Bought the latest issue of Fortean Times today. A magazine that was very formative for me but which I haven't really engaged with for years.

I'm reminded of those literary theories that posits all texts have "gaps" in them that the reader fills when engaging with them. This, some of the Missing 411 cases, Dyatlov Pass are stories almost entirely made of gaps that we can't help but fill with our imagination. Thanks as always Rick.
I see Rabbit Trap is finally getting a UK release:

Back in the early 90s, as a feckless student, I saw an act that swallowed, among other things, goldfish, an 8 ball, lit cigarettes, razor blades then regurgitated them. Strangely people seemed to think it was a trick and he wasn't really swallowing them. Maybe the truth was too horrifying to accept?
Anastasia discusses a supernatural motif I hadn't encountered before that seems to be commonly reported:

That was a fun show. Made me think that while contactees are often dismissed or ignored in this field their stories often have echoes of other cases we take more seriously. Made me want to dig out my copy of "A" is for Adamski and explore further. Thanks AP!
