the "if it's not japanese it's not anime" discourse has become even stupider for me because our art director calls everything anime, from south park to castlevania (conversation fully in japanese) and when he wants to specify japanese anime he says "nihon anime"

i try to gather all the artists i like in a single folder to take inspiration from all of them but either i end up being a cheap copy of one of them or it comes out in a way i dislike
