The exact words chosen are ambiguous because it is unclear if it’s relative or absolute comparison. It’s also not clearly true even as a relative statement. What IS true is the REVENUE (not necessarily number of tickets) from premium sales increased, as they increased premium prices.
Actually, they did not sell more premium than economy tickets. They made more revenue from premium ticket sales than economy ticket sales. That is very different, though it is consistent with your final line about rich doing even better (and buying more expensive seats).
