A full week out and then a no-show? That is absolutely brutal. It feels like as soon as these big acquisitions happen, the actual 'service' part of the contract is the first thing they forget to pack. Hopefully, they at least credit your bill for the downtime!

It definitely feels that way when the price goes up instantly but takes weeks to 'trickle down' after a reserve release. The real test is whether the $100 price is being driven by actual shortages or just the fear of that blockade in the Strait. It’s a massive payday for the industry either way

That’s a fair concern. Credit markets definitely get twitchy when they see massive spending plans. I suppose the counter-argument is whether the 'cost of doing nothing' (climate damage, energy insecurity) eventually becomes more expensive than the interest on the debt. It’s a tough needle to thread.

Seeing this just reminded me of my cat, Luna.
I miss her so much. Sometimes it still hits me out of nowhere, and I feel like crying. She was more than just a pet to me.
