Can anyone point me to a resource on how sign "Long COVID" in American Sign Language? I've seen various ways from spelling it out, to using the sign for "Coronavirus" or "COVID-19" followed by "Long" or "Stay". I'm curious if there is any official guidance/recommendations. Many thanks 🙏

If someone is going to get queer bashed if they show up as their full selves in public. If someone is going to get COVID (and become futher disabled) if they show up in public. I mean-- what is it that you expect THEM to do? Maybe YOU are the one who needs to do something to make things accessible.

really tired of conversations about how we need to get people to spend more time offline that don't acknowledge that one of the reasons people ARE online is their access needs aren't being met in physical spaces. This is especially true for queer people and disabled people.

In NY, to get on the ballot candidates need this many valid signatures from people who are both 1️⃣ in the same district and 2️⃣ registered to vote with the same party affiliation:

• 1,250 for Congress
• 1,000 for NYS Senate
• 500 for NYS Assembly

Help our primary challengers. See a petition? Sign it.

After Covid is officially published.
It took 3+ years of reporting—hundreds of interviews & deep dives into more than 2,000 studies & reports—to examine what followed the emergence of SARSCoV2. #LongCovid. Chronic illness. Strained systems. Eroded trust. The risks we face if we don’t learn from it.

🧵One thing I’ll always remember from when mask mandates were dropped is how gleefully my colleagues at the time rushed back to normal.

I begged them to consider what it meant for high risk folks like me.

“Everyone has to take personal responsibility,” said my boss. (1/3)
