For me it was second Sunday at St Matthew's Thorpe Hamlet, where I will be based during training. It was their patronal festival, harvest thanksgiving and they had a baptism! The sense of community was really inspiring.

I'm sorry - that's not really helpful. To be honest I think we were encouraged not to think about training too much until after Stage 2, which like yours was quite late. That doesn't leave much time, especially as open days are earlier in the year. I hope yours gets sorted π
Praying - that's really unsettling. I'm also learning these things sometimes sort themselves out for the better in ways we didn't expect
Thank you Naomi - hope it goes really well!
Thanks Emily!
I'm gutted to miss this as I'm on a residential that weekend - if I register will recordings be available?
Our next service will be at St Luke's Church, 61 Aylsham Road, NR3 2HF. Sunday 7th September, 5pm. Come as you are, you're among friends.

Last Sunday on the rota for leading music at my sending church, made sweeter and more poignant by a talented viola player who has recently joined π’

EXCLUSIVE TO ALL NEWSPAPERS POWDER KEG UK ABOUT TO BLOW UP AS BRITAIN STANDS ON THE BRINK OF THE WHOLE NATION DESCENDING INTO CIVIL WAR by Our Apocalypse Staff HELENA HANDCART THE entire country has turned into a tinderbox, one spark and the whole thing could turn into a raging inferno of hatred and violence. All it needs is one little push - preferably from us - and this once peaceful island will explode. It may not take much, maybe an article with some badly researched facts, maybe some exaggerated and provocative hyperbole, and before we know it there'll be blood on the streets, and flames too, as millions of furious citizens attack each other, the police, and the emergency services, not to mention the armed forces should they tragically be called in to deal with the hate-filled mob rampaging through our cities, towns and villages, armed with burning torches and pitchforks, calling for justice, free speech and the immediate death of everyone they don't like. (Top journalism, Ed). Make no mistake, if Britain even exists by next week, we will run this piece again until someone sparks the tinderbox on the brink of the powderkeg that... (cont. for entire summer).
No one sums up the utter shamelessness of the British press and the ugly politics of Farage quite like Private Eye.
I'm over 55 so I can be funded for a 2-year part time Dip HE whether I'm on a stipendiary or SSM pathway and Norwich allows this. At present Norwich doesn't offer the Elizabeth course but some experienced candidates have trained on a one year course. 2/2
Yes, as I understand it there are ceilings for funding training defined at a national level, but within those each Diocese operates slightly differently. 1/2
So is that with your Diocese then? I'm also training locally part time at ERMC. If it's the Elizabeth course do you just train for one year given that you're already past Stage 2?
Just seen this Pip - that's fantastic news and I'm so pleased for you!
Do you know where you are likely to train?

Thank you! π
I support the Archbishop of Yorkβs statement about Gaza. We are witnessing a catastrophe in our midst. Lord, have mercy.
Thank you - I'd go with whoop whoop!
Thinking of you too as you wait to hear π
Exactly.
Pretty chilled in Norwich too, but that may just be down to the prevailing aroma of weed.
This is the political leadership our country desperately needs...
Norwich!
Thank you!
Following my Stage 2 Discernment panel last week I'm absolutely delighted to be recommended to start Ordination training.
Thanks Pip, and thank you for praying. It was quite intense and went incredibly quickly, although I really enjoyed it. Met some lovely people and felt I gave a good account of myself - so waiting now!
I do that all the time - then find it 3 months later! π
Mine's at Launde Abbey tomorrow and Tuesday, heading across that way later this afternoon.
