Other update of the day: the orthopedic specialist cleared me last week and I am back to being able to fit my foot in shoes and walk normally, save for stairs (which I still have to approach differently). My purple toes have also healed. If anyone needs crutches, hmu before I donate them.

Well, our first copy of our wedding contract got lost in the mail. Something to laugh about, I suppose, but we have our wedding venue and date locked in! Jake and I will get married in Sept. of 2027 in Penfield, NY. More to come... we're just starting to quote and book other vendors. Exciting stuff!

Neutrality is a luxury.

Nonviolence alone won’t dismantle violence that’s already in the bones of our systems — the kind that raids homes at dawn and calls it justice. Trump is pouring gasoline and lighting a match. He'll soon find this level of militarized push-back to be unsustainable.

I hate to break it to some folks, but posterboards and social media hashtags don't, won't, and can't stop aggressive ICE tactics. Meanwhile, critics wring their hands about a few broken windows and thrown rocks, vastly ignoring the community that is forming peacefully and fighting back.

Thousands have flooded the streets; not for spectacle, but to say enough. To defend their neighbors. To reclaim safety. But instead of compassion, they’ve been met with curfews, tear gas, rubber bullets and more than 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines, sent in without state approval.
