Too often we are told that someone is "too close" or "too involved" to be able to exercise good judgment. But I agree completely that not participating in the defense of this community disqualifies you from participating in its recovery.

Let how exhausted I look here give you a window into how hard mutual aid organizers have been pushing to keep our neighbors safe and housed when no one else will. Please write to your councilmembers and the mayor and urge them to pass Pause Evictions, Save Lives!

Existing actual social safety nets like Minneapolis Public Housing Authority and St. Paul’s equivalent are among the biggest evictors in their respective county’s court right now.

There is no institutional support for keeping people housed from non-profits or the public sector.

People are still trapped in their homes in my neighborhood here in Jason's ward, unable to go to work (at jobs which may not even exist anymore), sick with worry over how they’ll pay utilities and remain housed.

It's not over. ICE is still here, and the least we can do is afford families more time.
