I woke up at 6 this morning, went to the basement studio, and played the whole thing perfectly five times in a row. Crazy how the brain works on that while sleeping. I wonder if other musicians struggle with a difficult passage one day and then nail it the next. Probably.

The arthritis in my hands is doing me a favor as I work on the new Cyphernaut record. The pain forces me to takes breaks and in those breaks I find ways to make the tunes better and return to the instruments refreshed in mind and body. For an hour…. Creativity hurts.

The nomination would have to come from Canada because the U.S. is in the process of leaving UNESCO (I hope I’m wrong about this). Canada (if memory serves) hosts a cluster of IA servers and therefore gives the IA a physical footprint from which we can access the intangible heritage. Canadians, help!

I’ve asked this before in all seriousness: How do we nominate the Internet Archive as a UNESCO World Heritage Site? How do we protect it as a cultural resource of global importance, especially now?
