I'm actually going to lose my mind, Gavin Newsom signed into CA law an age verification bill back in October requiring OPERATING SYSTEMS (including open source ones) to require id starting next year... Whomever lives in CA please tell him this is unconstitutional to gate technology like this!

This is not Discord “walking things back.” This is them further explaining the situation in more detail, and elaborating on how the new system will work. I understand the impulse to attribute this to outrage and Nitro cancellations, but this is just a better explanation, not a change.
Remember to cancel your #discord nitro. The only way to fight back against this is to hit them in the pocketbook. Fight back against compulsory age verification and for your privacy!
