Always a pleasure 💚💚💚
France will take no part in Trump's Iran war.
And, in fact, France is sending vehicles and medical supplies to Lebanon to help ensure Lebanon is not drawn into a wider war.

❌ We need to stop relying on volatile supplies of gas and oil.
For our security and stability, the EU must have its own supply of energy and renewables are the solution.
We can produce it ourselves, we don’t need to rely on external forces.
💚 Renewable energy is the future.
In the depths of a housing crisis, Dublin needs homes, not AirBnBs.
Managed to get an application for a full-time AirBnB in the Liberties rejected so that it'll be a home instead.
If you know of an illegal AirBnB in your area, drop me a message and we'll get on it.

“The truth is that far from being stolen by unemployed minorities, the Gorton result was the result of a majority of local working people being determined to keep Farage’s party out.”

At public meeting on offshore wind farms in Dublin last night, speaker’s Gotcha slide featured monstrously huge turbines looming over Dublin Bay (below, left).
When I asked him to confirm this image is technically accurate, ie verifed by an engineer, turns out nah, Photoshop quickie.

Graphic by the European Greens showing a map of Europe illustrating the gender pay gap. Most countries are coloured pink to indicate that men earn more than women, with percentages displayed for each country (for example: Estonia −19%, Czechia −18%, Germany −18%, Sweden −11%, Spain −9%). Luxembourg is highlighted in green with +1%, indicating women earn slightly more than men there. Title reads “THIS MAP NEEDS TO CHANGE*” with a legend explaining pink = men earn more and green = women earn more. Footnote: “*Except in Luxembourg. Luxembourg is doing great. Source: Eurostat.”
Only one country in the EU has equal pay. This needs to change.
➡️ Women are paid on average 13% less than men: for every €1 that he earns, she earns €0.87.
➡️ Women are less likely to be in the top jobs. Women make up only 34% of board members of companies in the EU.
So why not provide this funding for Galway buses ASAP? ⬇️

Updating some of my ocean heat content graphics tonight with data for 2025, which required extending the y-axis upper limit and steepening the rate of the linear trend. Meanwhile just read another article describing declining newspaper coverage on climate change. So many feelings, all the time.
Statement on Rotunda Hospital Remaining in Parnell Square accompanied by an RTÉ headline Government drops plan to move Rotunda to Connolly Hospital
As a board member of the hospital, I welcome the decision by Government to drop the planned relocation of the Rotunda to Connolly hospital. The Rotunda has been at the heart of Dublin City for over 280 years, and is a key part of the inner city's built and social heritage. Women deserve quality healthcare, in a hospital that is up to the highest standards. A new planning application must be submitted as soon as possible for the critical care unit expansion, so that mothers and new born babies can receive the care they deserve in an appropriate, fit for purpose setting.
Great news! As a board member I’m delighted to see this hospital remain a part of our community, where it has been for literal centuries.
