Well, at least the creative will be good?
I have two jobs, angling for a third, plus freelance.
I will never own a house. I wonβt be able to afford sending my kids to college. I have no savings, no retirement. I will work until I die, but at least then, my student loan debt will be forgiven.
Fuck, that all really hurts to write.

Book cover photo of βThe Art of Harvey Kurtzman: The Mad Genius of Comicsβ by Denis Kitchen and Paul Buhle.
It cannot be overstated how influential Kurtzman was in the world of comics. His EC war comics, then Mad Magazine and other humor works, and his adult strips for Playboy all had such an impact. This book is an amazing source of info and peek at his art.

This is insane.
Godspeed. If you are on Facebook, Make More Comix and CKRS are both great communities that spun off of CK and very encouraging and kind folks.
Two very different books but heβs great on both. Street Angel was his first comic and his passion really shines there.
I never met him either, but CK was a big influence on me actually pursuing my design career and back into creative work more generally. I made a few flyers for events he did at Phantom of the Attic in Pitt (where the memorial event will be).
Itβs a great collection of stuff. He has a few others up on his site, well worth grabbing if you get the chance.
Edβs family shared it on instagram and the Ringside group on Facebook.
Rob talks in detail how he met Ed on todayβs podcast, which was through HHFT. HHFT won an Eisner and was a huge seller for Fantagraphics. He also worked with Pekar on several projects, and was well-respected by his peers.
CG sucks and they just latched onto his death to harass people.

RIP Ed. I imagine there will be a huge turnout. #edpiskor
I read the Bill & Ted Bogus Journey adaptation as a kid, and it is still one of my favorite and most cherished comics. Of his original work, I have to go with Dork, though. @evandorkin.bsky.social
But mostly, I wish he was still alive.
The sun is coming out in Homestead right now. His visitation starts soon. I hope the rain clears up.
It canβt rain all the time.
RIP Ed.
