What a nightmare. The U.S. economy has been shedding jobs overall since April 2025. From May 2025 through February 2026, the net change in employment is now -19,000 jobs.

A terrible February jobs report. The U.S. economy LOST 92,000 jobs last month, while the unemployment rate rose to 4.4%, one of the highest levels seen in the past few years.
December was revised down to -17,000 jobs, while January was revised to 126,000.
Kevin Hassett is just trying to gaslight his way through it: "With 4 percent growth this year, which is about what I expect we're gonna see, then there will be so much activity that everybody is gonna be able to find a job that wants one."
