I think I had that too, here in Oxfordshire.

I know my brother has moved away from beef because he says he can’t make a profit on it. He tried for years. He’s now growing lots of potatoes and veg. He’s also growing grass/maize for a bio digester in the next village. And putting windmills on the hills.

Transport costs mean that even non organic farmers prefer to find feed locally if they can.

I think I’m keener on M than you. The way I see it, all she knows is that something is up. I don’t think she’s using Ruairi. She sees that he is struggling, Brian is being evasive and she is trying to get to the bottom of it.

My cousin’s third was born in the ambulance in a lay-by a mile from the hospital. She didn’t dare have a 4th in case she dropped it in the freezer aisle in Tesco.

I think she has every right to be suspicious of Brian and Ruairi. She knows something is up and I suppose, having been married to the awful Justin, she probably wants all the cards on the table. I don’t have a problem with that and think that their lying to her is morally much worse.

I’m just speculating too. Maybe R appreciated a bit of warmth and kindness? She was a lot nicer to him than B has been lately. I get that M was a bit full on, definitely, but Brian hasn’t exactly been sympathetic (not that I think he ought to be really).

I think she also realises that Brian, love him, is going to be useless at dealing with this. That’s a possibility. Or maybe she also suspects she’s being kept out of the loop, and realises Ruairi is the weak link. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t feel I know her very well yet.

She just strikes me as someone who doesn’t take any rubbish. Men are allowed to be like that, but women are called all sorts if they are. Justin is as slippery and dodgy as anything. I’d treat anything he says with caution. I’m going to assume he was caught out. Definitely team Miranda here.

Helen is the most ridiculous character. I can’t imagine blabbing to Tracey. All credit to the actor who makes it work.
