Statement of Support for Ms. Nolasco and the Talaingod 13 The Centre for Applied Human Rights have released a statement of support for the Ms. Nolasco and the Talaingod 13.

The Centre for Applied Human Rights is deeply concerned by court proceedings against the Talaingod 13 in the Philippines.

Their conviction represents a clear effort to criminalise human rights defenders and further marginalise Indigenous communities in Mindanao.

Art Rights Truth (ART) has collaborated with Amnesty International and CIVICUS on two separate calls, inviting artists and activists to work together. The result of these collaborations was a series of works that offered distinctive perspectives on the right to protest and its value to civil society

β€œEven if you are not an activist β€” your positive words can strengthen someone’s patience in prison.”

Waleed Abu al-Khair reminds us: You don’t need to be a lawyer or a campaigner to support human rights.

Your words matter. Use them to demand his release.

Waleed’s detention is a direct violation of his right to peacefully express his views and defend human rights. His case highlights the harsh realities faced by many human rights defenders who are targeted for their advocacy.

For many HRDs, the cost of standing up for justice is often their freedom.

Waleed Abu al-Khair, a courageous human rights lawyer, has been arbitrarily detained and sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was imprisoned for defending activists, advocating for reforms, and speaking out against human rights violations in Saudi Arabia.

In his last interview prior to his arrest, Waleed is aware that his detainment is imminent–a harrowing reminder to us all that freedom is often fragile for human rights defenders, and justice delayed is justice denied.

Do you want to help us campaign for the release of Waleed Abu al-Khair?

There has been a recent wave of releases of Saudi political prisoners, however, Waleed’s case has been forgotten. Join us to call for his release, and to secure true justice for Waleed.
