Flipping through my collection to find music I haven’t listened to in a while, I put on Queenryche’s Operation Mindcrime, and HOO BOY does that album seem unexpectedly topical right about now.
Redrafting my novel has been going slowly, as I’ve put a lot of effort into my first two chapters. I have my eye on a contest that requires the first 5K words.
Drafting chapter 3 this week with renewed vigor because retirement from software is only 29 days away!

I ran Daggerheart for the first time this weekend as I kicked off a new campaign. So much fun! Everything flowed naturally, and even with looking up rules, the fights were snappy and dynamic. We got through everything I prepared and wrapped up on time. Looking forward to doing more of that!

My first short story submission of 2026 is in the wild. Wish me luck!
I submitted 3 stories in 2024 (1 accepted) and 5 stories in 2025 (2 accepted). I've yet to set a goal for this year, because I want to focus primarily on novel-length work, but I think I'll be able to send out at least 6.

The new first chapter of the new draft of my novel is done, revised, updated based on trusted feedback, polished, and out for critique from more writers. We'll see what they say, but I'd now be comfortable showing my first 10 pages to a potential agent.
Time to draft the rest of the book!

I guess we should just stop sending them Federal tax money, then. We’d actually have more money to take carte of our states than we do now, since most of us give more in Federal taxes than we get in Federal money.

Weight loss plateaus suck. I'm glad to have lost 20 pounds, but I'm tired of being at the same weight for weeks despite my best efforts. I've got 30 more to go and would love to lose them all by Spring.

I deleted Hearthstone from all my devices over a month ago and haven’t played since then, but the new set they recently released has me jonesing to resinstall the game which means there’s only one thing to do: WRITE MORE!
Well, if I can’t sleep, at least I can celebrate that I advanced to Round 2 in the NYCMidnight Rhyming Story Challenge!
