Private insurance policies for law enforcement officers is the only way we fix this.

Also, as a longtime resident of this district (not anymore though!) I get it. We havenβt had representation for a long time and the current congressperson is young, energetic, and extremely well-liked.
Some disappointing results in our local judicial races in Houston last night where a genuinely horrible former judge won her primary and a genuinely amazing current judge lost his (different races). Most results were as expected though - on to the (much less exciting) runoffs!
Heβs going to a runoff. The vote totals are extremely close.
to End REFUSES TO CONTINUE FUNDING ICE Crockett REFUSES to continue to fund ICE when all they are doing is protecting American citizens from criminal illegal aliens. d.efend.co/ymJQWPX
This was the follow up:
Text message advertisement: 7:28 +1 (210) 714-3959 > JASMINE CROCKETT VOTED TOND ICE. PAID FOR BY AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY What does Jasmine Crockett think of ICE? "Rogue organization" "Violating people's rights every single day" "Killing people in the middle of the street" Crockett is ICE's worst nightmare, and she's VOWED to "clean house." It's no wonder she's under attack. d.efend.co/YTvt47J Stop to End + Text Message β’
How is this not a pro-Crockett ad? I mean, I already like her! You really donβt need to convince me anymore.
I was leaning Crockett and now Iβm full Crockett. I just think sheβll help the down-ballot ticket more in November.
AI is creating new business, as pro se parties feel like they can do things themselves and then fail, and then need lawyers to clean it up. Because the real value of lawyers isnβt in the documents at all.
I just recently learned about this aggregator of endorsements, which has been necessary for a long time (so you can clearly see which orgs have endorsed in each race, and its clear who has the majority of endorsements in most of them) bluevoterguide.org
Thereβs also this one which seems like it might be related given some of the specific candidates itβs pushing, but clearly less slick publishing money went into this:
Usually something like this.
I will get a huge dose of joy in watching these folks fail again this year. πββοΈ
βTis the season for misleading endorsement cards passed out at polls in Harris County. We have a PAC who really wants to be a kingmaker in the Democratic primaries and always releases a few cards during early voting that look like they came straight from the county party.
Ugh, very disappointed in who the judge is. But the last line of the opinion is gold.
A lot of primary voters just skip down ballot races though, even in the general election.
For what itβs worth, 7% of primary voters undervoted in my race in 2024. Primary voters are far more likely to undervote uncontested races. Outside of endorsements, ballot position may give a bump of 1-3 percentage points, and name (depending on the makeup of the electorate) can give a bump.
This is a real thing that happened where when I was growing up everyone knew at least basic HTML code (thanks, Geocities!) and now an average 20 year old canβt even tell me what Easter eggs might be in the source code.
Post a banger that is not in English.

Bring back Pop Up video!
I am so far off his mailing list that I might as well be on a different continent, ha.
I like it order a of magnitude more than the same campaign literature mailed to my house, though.
A few years ago, crossing from Canada back into the U.S. by car near Niagara Falls, the CBP officer asked if our dogs were good dogs. Because bad dogs get taken to the middle of the bridge and tossed off. And then he laughed.
Amen. π
As someone who lives in a βborder areaβ and in a state with the longest stretch of border, itβs insane to say βgo ahead and keep doing the extrajudicial stuff but please keep it to a designated area, kthxbye.β
Hi, if youβre a progressive (especially a progressive politician) and the first time you put out a statement condemning ICE is after a white male gun owner was shot and killed on video, please reconsider your definition of progressive and do better going forward. Thanks.
I watched it several times. Didnβt move the needle.
I saw a Texas creator on TikTok say, βTexas is Polandβ and it shook me to my core. Because of course it is.
Then she posted a video of the protest at the Dilley detention center yesterday. (TT username: @morga_tt)
This is a good suggestion for anyone feeling helpless outside the U.S.
Iβve never seen this but I love it! π
