This afternoon’s #hockeydram is the highly appropriate Colorado Avalanche Bourbon from Woody Creek Distillers. It’s a 5-year-old Bourbon available in Colorado and online.
It’s brand new. Was just released this week, and it’s full of baking spices and caramel with some dried fruits. Not like licking an oak barrel at all.
Today’s Saturday afternoon sip is the new Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 2026 release. It’s a 22-year-old Bourbon bottled at barrel proof: 64.6% ABV.

Old Potrero isn't going away...Hotaling plans to contract with other Bay Area distilleries to make it in the future, and they have enough aged stock to last for a while...
Just confirmed that Hotaling & Co. plans to close its San Francisco distillery at the end of the month. The distillery makes Old Potrero rye whiskey and other spirits. Will have more details as I get them.
