Have 1/3 left of Brave New World before I can start Julie Andrews 1st memoir (audio, library) and working my way through Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern books (physical, my copies).

I get to label what I went through as bad parenting, do you have any idea how fucking hard it is trying to get back into the medical system when you have grown up in a "hesitant" house?
Why do you think it's a systems & policy problem now??
Could it possibly be because we have been entertaining "vaccine hesitant" people for at least the 35 fucking years I have been alive?
Such a great use of my computers resources to be pinging my location constantly when I'm working from home. Not like I need things to fucking load for my job or anything.
Reads on one website that avocados have more potassium than bananas: perfect, that means I can have half a container of guacamole for lunch - for my health.
I think we are at about 35 days since Klobuchar announced her run and her website still has nothing but donation and volunteer forms?
Environment protections and keeping data centers out of our communities.
We just got an in-house version of that and I almost hurt myself rolling my eyes.
WOOOOO!!
That is a very happy looking cat
Speaking only from my experience with how many 'organizational announcements' I have seen with changes to 'AI' higher-ups - I assume anyone who is in a position like that is a grifter
Someday I will learn to just not look at user reviews
Woke up still thinking about this. Sure Fellowship was published in 1954, but because I have read The Hobbit so many times in my head Fellowship is so much closer to that publication then the Dragon book published by an american woman in 1968.
Just read a comment about Anne McCaffrey's Dragonflight that said "My only comparison of a fantasy novel written near this time period is Lord of the Rings" and I just would never in a million years have connected these books like that, my flabbers are kinda gasted.
I'm starting with some Anne McCaffrey to try to get myself to remember that I actually can read a physical book.
My coworker asked "can I see your chewtoy" meaning my fidget toy, aka the bit of foam I use for grip strength exercises I keep at my desk. It kinda looks like floral foam so she just wanted to feel it.
Thanks! He definitely gave off streamer vibes.
Thanks! I wasn't able to stop and try to talk to him but good to know for next time.
π¨AWOOOO FOR RENT RELIEFπ¨
There is a guy walking around downtown St. Paul (by Afro Deli) with a vest that says Press on the front & Media on the back, carrying a phone on a selfie stick looking thing. The vibes were a little weird but I don't know if that's just my general reaction to white guys at the moment.
Question for the hive mind: if a journalist is out and about would they normally have something to indicate if they are with a real news organization?
I really don't understand why articles are not filed every fucking day. I get that votes are a problem but it would have to be more effective at making noise and getting people to call their reps than social media posts.
Not exactly the same but my youngest sister is engaged and I keep having to remind myself that it's not actually a child marriage because she is in her mid 20s.
What if instead of the state giving $200M to this they give it to HCMC.
Government (our) money going to sport arenas makes me so angry.
Hell yeah!
Was talking to someone today who said they don't like the idea of 'AI' because of sci-fi 'it's alive' dreams & then I got to try to explain that no they just can't make money because they don't have a product and I feel like I should just send him this thread.
Two black cats sitting in a windowsill. They are facing out, the bigger one is looking off to the right while the smaller one is looking up because she is sniffing the air.
Cat tax
I did and the cats are very happy about it.
This is the objectively correct ranking
I'm so tired of everything being called 'AI'
