It's tricky. If they made no profit.. yes. If a person makes no profit they also shouldn't be taxed. The bad part is how much assistance they get from gov in tax relief.. that must stop.

I've been working on something cool for the last 8-9 months. I'm getting close to launching on Android!
I'm hoping to have a pre-release to plug soon but it's been a really hard push with a lot more to come!
An idea I've had for years and finally committed to building it #staytuned #android
That's crazy!
There are few dopamine hits greater than DM'ing your coworker a joke while in the same meeting and watching them hold back laughter.
This might be true, but aren't we on track to have less aviation incidents than 2024?
You better believe the media would like us to frenzy over this than the actual current dismantling of our government.. it wouldn't be the first time they try & succeed to distract the American people
These, and all your other shaders are incredible! I'm always so envious of devs who truly understand shaders haha not my forte
Haha well good luck! I think BS will be a good platform, but it's pretty new, and slowly growing traction. So hopefully we're in at the right time!
If that's your goal, some sort of devlog either on Itch or YouTube is a good bet. Or reddit game dev communities. Tho I think those have become more promo than actor feedback these days
I was thinking about just spinning up an itch.io listing for the demo? I'm going to look into this, because you have a point. And I'd say how finished is up to you, it depends on what specific feedback you're looking for.
I'd be happy to take a look as well! Would love a collaborative dev community
Maybe I should create a playable demo.. I'm not sure if folks would enjoy being involved in that way, but it's hard to know if it's fun as the only one testing so far.
Has anyone else had luck with pre-alpha testing?

Im close to the point where my prototype for No One's Home either succeeds or fails.
It has required a lot of work to just complete the game loop, so hopefully it will cross the finish line.
I certainly don't want to force a game to be fun. It should inherently be fun.

Just experienced my second earthquake! 4.1 magnitude in Maine!

I'm really happy with all of the feedback I've received from Setzi! Mostly friends and family as you'd expect, but everyone who's tried it has held my phone several minutes past me asking for it back!
That's always a good sign for #gamedev

If you could believe it- "No One's Home" is the first game I've worked in where I've actually done some sound engineering.. it's been difficult but rewarding working on some #gamedev skills I haven't done in a project before.
What's your least exercised game dev muscle?

Finally.
Same haha we're they scared to mention it by name?
Oh lol
What is the clock app?
Interesting idea! Will it be mostly text based?
Today I added basic sounds, updated the movement system & added controller support.
I added an object outline shader when the player is near an interactable object.
I also had some fun with post processing, though this feels overkill..
What do you think?

Okay I think that 16-bit art will fit the style that I'm going for.. plus it's just easier to make than 32-bit.. especially for a beginner.
What do you think? Is this too simple? These colors and designs are not final, but I think it aligns more to my vision.

"No One's Home": Today I created more temp assets to better understand the flow of interactions around the room.
For the door+phone, you'll have to successfully manage a convo in order to not drain your energy.
Yes, this is a survival game about being an introvert.

For sure! Games for me is mostly a hobby, and I think the lack of that pressure keeps me motivated! I have a degree in game design, but when I thought about the corporate game industry.. was not for me! Lol
Id much rather 10x people play my game then to make a little money off of them.
Ah okay! I see it now. Cool! The background made me think that was the organic shape.
Makes sense! I mean nature is rarely neat and tidy.. especially trees!
What is it?
Really beautiful! I like the painted texture appearance. Well done
Thankfully I don't give myself deadlines for my projects haha otherwise I'd be sufficiently behind schedule.
I think there's a balance though, as any code I'm not immediately happy with, I'll certainly not be happy with in a few days.
But fair play!
I love being at this stage of #gamedev. Programming mechanic systems, making code extremely scalable for what will likely be a very small scale game.. and lots and lots of over-engineering.
Are we all scared of getting to the stage where we need to make things look good?
