So there's my boomer list. It has 2 modern border cards in it, and nothing printed after 2016. There are more card to love, but if this list is the cards that "made me" I think this is who I am, Magic-wise.
Here’s the Exclusive Winter Factory mat, with my Winter Factory from the Devoid Cube.
Mishra's Factory - similar to Cabal Therapy, Mishra's Factory is simply one of my favorite cards. It was in the T1 Aggro Decks, it has been a staple of Cubes of every shape and size forever, and has some of the best art of any card.
Wastes - Wastes is the card that truly set me on my cube journey and I could not be more grateful for it.
Cabal Therapy - Therapy is a runner from my various decks that I've loved - T1 Mono-Black Aggro. As the Sacrifice Outlet for Academy Rector in Trix. Clearing the way for comboing out with dredge. Young Pyro in Grixis Delver. The card is nuts and amazing.
Golgari Grave-Troll - I fucking love Dredge. My best friend described dredge as "It's difficult to disrupt because you your goal is to mill yourself and discard your hand as fast as possible" and at some point you stop playing spells. It is the weirdest form of Magic around, and I loved it.
Lightning Bolt - I was so sure they would never reprint Lightning Bolt that I sharpied black borders on my Revised/4th/5th ed bolts. Reprinting it into standard was what brought me back to Magic after leaving for VS. and college.
Price of Progress - The absurdity of this card in T1 Burn. I remember one game where my opponent was beating me to death with a Pristine Angel, had 3 cards in hand, and I had him only down to 12. At the end of his turn I said "I guess I have to draw two Ball Lightnings here" and then cast POP for 12
Dark Ritual - I made the insane choice after starting playing Magic to immediately jump into vintage. I played a number of decks over time - mono-black aggro, burn, Rector Trix, etc. Dark Ritual was a mainstay of whatever I was playing and I've loved the card forever.
Cabal Coffers - Odyssey/Onslaught Mono-Black Control was one of my favorite decks of all time. It solidified my desire to play the game competitively and well. It was then-time bangers of the moment - Smother, Mind Sludge, Mirari, Riptide Replicator.
This would lead me to build Food Chain Goblins in T1, one of my favorite decks of all time, as well as copying his T2 list for Goblins.
Goblin Piledriver - my first deck was not Goblins. It was a janky Earthcraft infinite combo deck. I brought it to Neutral Ground on a Sunday to play, but one of the regulars there only had standard Goblins. But he could tell I was new, and offered to play a few games and stomped me into the ground.

Went 2-1 with Mardu Value Pile. Losing to Esper Value Pile, which managed to recur 1.5 removal spells for every 1 creature I recurred. The games were...extended.
But boy, nothing really beats playing unsleeved Magic cards.
A smaller crowd than usual this week @cubeforacause.upkeepnewyork.com - only firing one pod, but it was the inaugural pod of a new cube, so always an exciting time. We drafted The Dime Bar - an ultrabudget, unsleeved bar cube.
