Two handknit socks. One is red, grey, and black like a male cardinal. One is tan, gold, orange, grey, red, and black like a female cardinal. Together, they make a pair.
Another pair of socks done! And it is a pair... of cardinals!
@songbirdfibres.bsky.social dyed this amazing yarn to resemble male and female Northern Cardinals to make a true "pair" of socks. I can't wait to wear them #birdwatching this spring!

The word "love" in cursive as a magenta metal sign with lights throughout the letters. It rests on a fabric cutting mat and is about 50 cm long.
Like this! (currently the only such decoration I have around, but if you went into a Michael's in February, it was everywhere)

Close up of a white lace shawl showing how the pattern changes from diamonds to branch half way.
A handknit white lace triangle shawl spread out to show the wingspan.
One more #lace knit for #showmeyourknits. This is one of my fav shawls that goes with everything. It needs fresh blocking (I wear it a lot!), but the lace still looks good.
Pattern is Olive Branch by LibraryPaste, free on Ravelry. Don't remember the π§Ά, unfortunately.

A pair of finished crochet fingerless gloves. They have crocodile stitches ("dragon scales") over the hand, and smooth stitches over the wrists. There are thumb holes, but they aren't readily visible.
The yarn changes between purple, lavender, green, and a sage/grey. The remaining skein of yarn sits to the left, and a wooden handled crochet hook rests across the wrist area of one glove.
I forgot to show off the finished dragon gloves!
They work up quickly and look great in variegated yarn. I need to scale up for my big hands, though. #punintended

You have a ROUTINE. You are TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF. You're doing AMAZING!!!
May anyone who ever tells me to try weightlifting be cursed with joint pain similar to mine and then go add more weight to those joints and see how it feels.

Alpaca is soft and drapes well and is excellent for a fluffy warm scarf, but the same qualities make it less ideal for other projects. I do a lot of amigurumi and wool is usually best for holding its shape long-term. It's about the best fibre for the project.

A crochet wyrm (legless dragon) in bright orange yarn with lighter orange slit pupil eyes has its tail wrapped around the trunk of a dragon tree (dracaena marginata) and its wings outstretched as if to take off.
Very happy to share that my wyrm has wings! It still likes clinging to the dragon tree though.
It's so CUTE!

That's a great idea! The pattern is very adjustable - add a scale to make it bigger around, do fewer rounds in the wrist to make it shorter, etc. - that you can easily personalize it even when making "the same thing."

A completed crochet fingerless glove/arm warmer with "dragon scales" at the hand and flat (to fit under a sleeve!) arm. The yarn changes between purple, lavender, green, and sage, visible in the ball of yarn on the right with the wooden handle crochet hook.
When a friend asks if you can make #armwarmers/#fingerlessgloves, it's time to make a sample!
"Adult medium" is too small for me, so trust me there is a cool thumb hole.

#showmeyourknits is WILD for animals this week, so here is one of my favourite makes: a snake sweater!

This is certainly turning into a learning experience!

Thank you, everyone!
Step 1 was add a lifeline.
Step 2 was discovering my gauge is way off. π€¦ββοΈ
Step 3 was a bunch of math to learn that I need to add 22 rows to get the same size with my current tension.
Step 4 will be to try adding the rows and see if I have enough yarn!

That is good to know about cotton! I think of it as super stiff/no stretch, and this is the first thing I have made where the stretch matters.

A rectangle of stockinette stitch knitting in turquoise with a bright pink icord edge. A yarn bowl shaped like an orange yip yip muppet holds the remaining yarn balls in its mouth.
The stockinette is 78 rows for an XL tank top???
#knitsky, trust the pattern or go rogue?
The pattern says to start the arm hole shaping now, but I am afraid this is far too short to cover my torso. It's my first garment, so I don't have any experience sizing my knitting.
Yarn is cotton, so it won't stretch much with blocking.
Add more rows?

How to Crochet a Magic Ring - PlanetJune by June Gilbank: Blog
Link easily to this tutorial in your patterns: www.planetjune.com/magicring The question I get asked most often is how to make a magic ring (sometimes also called a magic circle) to begin an amigurumi...
Check out Planet June. She's ambidextrous and has tutorials for both lefties and righties!
The chain start others mentioned absolutely does work but leaves a small hole. Magic ring/loop pulls tight and is recommended to keep the stuffing inside.
You got this!
