The thing about this thread is that it sits comfortably alongside “he’s a spectacular dumbass,” but clarifies that no matter how dumb he is, he knew no later than sixteen years ago that he had a Nazi tattoo and made the affirmative choice to keep it, even at the expense of his career.
And none of them even try to make a case for why this specific guy should have this specific job, it’s just as though not having gotten a Nazi tattoo *specifically on purpose* is all the qualification you should need (besides white and man).
Love when people try to defend Platner by being like “look no he’s just a normal veteran and all normal veterans are colossal dipshits anyway he deserves to be in the United States senate.”
The totenkopf is not at all a *secret* hate symbol, pal.
Not yet! I still need to read The Expanse books too. I’ve got 1-3 and 8, lol.
Working my way down this list. I just started The Devil’s Banker, which I am going to finish because my sweet daughter got it for me, but which I feel like I’m going to skim more than properly read, and which contains this “very much not how it works” passage about SIGINT, lol.
In The Rehearsal it does! Their German arm was the one that removed the NFY episode, not Paramount at large.
This is most pronounced IMO in discourse about how Trump will steal the midterms by scaring people away from the polls with armed goons posted at polling places.
I mean I understand the opinion but Breaking Bad is extremely explicit about Walter White being a bad guy. The only way to have these guys not idolize bad guys is for bad guys not to exist in fiction.
The Rehearsal, especially season 2, is unlike anything else that ever has been or will be on television. It’s remarkable.
Just your standard good guys, Tony Stark, Saul Goodman, Deadpool, Superman, and Walter White.
Paramount in Germany removed an episode of Nathan for You that focused on the holocaust, so he rehearsed visiting Paramount’s German headquarters to confront them about it, and depicted them like this.
Paramount plus headquarters in The Rehearsal, looking like it’s covered in Nazi banners
Paramount Plus Nazi shock troops
Worth remembering that Nathan Fielder had Paramount’s number in season 2 of The Rehearsal.
Just finished Becoming the Boogeyman by @richardchizmar.bsky.social. A really fun follow up to Chasing the Boogeyman, grappling with true crime and its ethical implications, and made more fun by living exactly where the whole thing takes place.
And like, to continue the grisly metaphor, if it’s one of those ceramic stoves, the longer our hand stays on there, maybe the skin starts to kind of stick and fuse and get damaged in such a way that pulling it up is going to cause damage of its own too.
Basically we’re touching the stove but the impulses are taking a long time to travel from our hand to our brain and once they get there our brain is like “damn, stove hot, it’s been a long time since a stove was this hot, what do we do again?” and this whole time our hand is burning worse and worse.
Part of this is that our collective nervous system is represented by the lag time between this stuff happening and us at least showing some kind of pain response (holy shit this is happening!) and for the most part we’re still living inside that lag time, and the damage being done is getting worse.
Was canceling the Nazis a dumb, politically correct war, and the opposite of what the Trump administration is doing? Inquiring minds want to know.
The only way this thing gets built before 2029 is if it’s a Daniel Burnham, White City special, built to last for the length of like a week of carnivals.
Hello darkness, my old friend
He mouths shit in speeches about “our soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice” but we know, as well as we know anything, that he does not, *cannot*, comprehend the concept of sacrifice.
The thing is that some of Trump’s guys, like RFK, are full death cult. Trump himself is in a cult of pure indifference to life and death, which is almost a little more upsetting.
Today in “what the fuck is iTunes’s deal?”:
My wife bought the K Pop demon hunters soundtrack and we have family sharing on so I downloaded it and tonight iTunes decided to delete Golden (and only Golden) and I’m not able to download it again.
I bet his wife could get AI to call her “mommy”
WPA it turns out is like a rule that says you can swing a sledgehammer around wildly, including at support structures, and then you need to get permission to go further, but again, if the structure is collapsing on account of the sledgehammering, permission is kind of forced.
Absolutely unhinged thread that is wrong in lots of ways you don’t expect but firm in its conviction so goddammit I have to respect it.
Seriously they’re gonna come out with a charter Saturday that makes Donald Trump chairman for life and demands a billion dollars per member state or some shit.

Yeah like I want to believe in the Mulderian sense but also I don’t want to get out over my skis.
