I started learning to sculpt for my main character, and this is what I have so far. If any oomfs are willing to give feedback and let me pick their brain to get better, please let me know. My DMs are open

I love this so much
Iโm reworking my Mirrorโs Edge-inspired scene.
Iโve switched to UE5.7 (right). The lighting and reflections feel more accurate, and the ambient occlusion is improved overall.
Iโve also reduced the strong blue fog and shifted the mood toward a warmer palette.
It's #screenshotsaturday time again! I hoped to post this last week, but couldn't get a working anim for the swing to test it with
The system isn't connected to chooser evaluators, so it looks silly, but I'm happy with the progress so that I can spend next week bugfixing and start exploring swinging to expand on what's there
New update on #Kusanagi for #screenshotsaturday Finally got around to remaking the beam walking and ledge jumping for Mover component. Drastically reduced the number of traces and loops in the logic. Best part is that it also feels more fluid and seamless
And with that out of the way, I hope you all have a Happy New Year!
One of the things I want to do this year is get better at posting updates to the game I'm working on. So, in that spirit, here's a quick recap:
- Changed the CMC to Mover component
- Started working on a material pipeline
- Learning Zbrush to make my main char
Didn't manage to get a lot done this week on my game, but did some locomotion bugfixes and started doing initial tests for the wall to ledge jump logic

Update on my incline elevator for #screenshotsaturday
Starting to get into the detail work, got the modelled and rigged, still need another pass of wiring and more details
If you are an indie dev, or at any point planning on being, read this and bookmark it
No, not really planning much of an interior past what you see in the window, since it's not gameplay important. It's mainly a way to move vertically across different sections of the city
Honestly, not enough of them in games and it's such a shame. They can so easily add some life whether it's in a playable area or just background decor

More progress on the incline elevator for my game, hoping to get the modelling done next week
Didn't get it in time for #screenshotsaturday , though
Do you remember

Also started work on modelling a freight incline elevator
Project Kusanagi update: Finally got walking on beams and jumping between them ready for a first pass. Still bugfixing to do, but it's working pretty consistently
+ Niagara based shooting and motion-matching dashing

Hiya! Is any mutual willing to help me out with some root motion animation questions? I'm currently learning that, but I'm having some trouble finding the answers to questions that I have. Preferably, with knowledge of Unreal's GASP system
Somehow, ValiDate was not unlisted on Itch despite all of our tags.
fuck censorship, you can pick up a copy for FREE until the 31st
enjoy ;)

Had to refactor the whole thing several times over, but got my custom overhangs working on the building generator youtu.be/CJfUGeRAmaw
Have you considered hiring a highly technical character artist with almost 15 years of individual contributor and leadership experience?
What about someone who can wrangle your shaders?
Perhaps you should hire someone who knows how to assemble character art pipelines?
I may have a person in mind.
It did look like you're using prefab tiles. Thanks for explaining
That looks really good. Can you talk a bit about how you deal with the context to spawn the level?
