Heading over to Champaign, IL on Friday to visit with regional university photographers...two weeks before we host a mix of university photographers and photo educators in Indy.

Makes me want an RF mount camera again...
Modestly priced 45mm f/1.2 for full frame!

Color photo of a small goose statue, she's wearing a hat with flowers, sunglasses (shaped like hearts) and a TLR camera. The image is framed with sprockets like it was film.
A mouse doll holding a broom, seated atop an autopole, shelves of equipment and bins in the background. The frame has sprockets as though this were a film photo.
Decorations around the office.
On the other end of the spectrum from the Charmera, we have the RF 100-300 in stock again.
Lofi photo of a man cleaning a Nikon sensor. The edges of the picture have sprockets and say "CHARMERA" and simulate frame counts, and have the date in the corner.
A man holds up a tiny blue Kodak Charmera and takes a photo with it. The edges of the picture have sprockets and say "CHARMERA" and simulate frame counts, and have the date in the corner.
The Charmera delights.
Where's the..
Nikon Z f adds film grain settings and some other tweaks in firmware update 3.0.

My dear friend & coworker Tom made this page: robertscamera.com/trade-up
Brands run trade-in / trade-up programs that function like rebates if you sell gear to us. Here's an index of current programs.
three images tiles, the top is a color photo of a man operating a small 4x5 camera overlooking a city & a river during sunrise, the bottom two are black and white photos of the same view and of a hillside, presumably from that 4x5
Spent last week in Maysville, KY with mountainworkshops.org and it was encouraging. Met a lot of great folks, got to see wonderful people again, ate good food at local restaurants, and took some photos. Thanks to Brett Phelps (now of Mirror Indy) for the photo of me.
Jeremy's here. I may not have all this coffee to myself.
A binary contrast photo of a looming black shape with a latched door, a round sign reads "BUN STORAGE" with a brandmark for Bimbo QSR and the bottom edge of the sign says ONLY with garbled text "Freezer is property of Bimbo QSR" and an 800 number.
Bimbo Bun Storage, outside Wendy's drive through.
With two colleagues out of the office today & the 4th, sporadic, coffee drinker status-unknown, I might be setting myself up to solo a pot of coffee.
Bring it.
A stark black and white rendering of a man in an office. There are pools or lozenges of light, all else is black.
Delighted by my friend Derek's use of the binary pixel mode on the Kodak Charmera, as soon as I saw it was an option in the creative mode in my Nikon Zf I decided to enable it.
Delighted to report that I took an in-store pre-order for the Charmera today from a customer who was not yet in our point of sale.
From the HBR article "We define workslop as AI generated work content that masquerades as good work, but lacks the substance to meaningfully advance a given task."
And you don't need an LLM to produce slop. Easy to produce makework that "lacks the substance to meaningfully advance a given task."
Closing out the message with "I'm an art hedonist. If it feels good, do it. I don't think that most paying photo work can be readily done with film cameras on film, but there's more to the world than commercial work."
Quoting you verbatim to a customer who asked, in short, "WHY?" as one perspective.
Walked into the office today with @behindthebluemotel.com saying that he's going to call the Nikon ZR the "Zed Red" and knowing what's expected of me I immediately said "Zed's Red, Baby, Zed's Red."
We're taking pre orders.

Just described the Olympus OM-1 as my Ride or Die to a customer. It's going with me to Billings, Powell, and Tetons this weekend. I've been carrying the Zf so much...but I really do have a lot more capability in the OM-1, 12-40 2.8, 17, 40-150 2.8, and 60 macro.
Artists will meet monthly across different areas of the state to share career updates, challenges they are facing, and build community hubs dedicated to creatives."
Just learned about this initiative:
"The Work In Progress (WIP) Exchange Labs are a pilot program, designed to provide network and connection for primarily emerging artists across the state.

I was going to buy this guy but went with a new one with lid organizer....it's the new ride for my custom 4x5.

My toxic trait is using my inbox as a to do list. "Process saves us from the poverty of our intentions," indeed.
PHOENIX II is here!
@harmanphoto.co.uk continues their color film journey and we gotta say βΒ this is quite a jump. Phoenix II has improved grain, contrast and a more natural color palette. Overall easier to shoot and better lab scan results! #phoenixfilm2 #harmanphoenix2
Some of my favorite gear.

I feel like this is an environment for light meters. @unexphotography.bsky.social sells those, yeah?
Excited to see new and familiar faces at NSC this year.
