The way my wife explained it (I too had the knee-jerk "Why is he arrested for the lesser crime not the greater???") - the files are evidence that he probably committed the horrific stuff. But the files ARE him committing the intel crimes - it's a lighter lift.
I ride my bicycle on shared (bike and foot) paths. Young women with headphones in can *usually* hear me ring my bell and call out that I'm planning to pass them on the right; young men almost never hear me at all and often also meander from one side of the path to the other as I'm trying to pass.
Like a chemo patient. No eyebrows and no eyelashes were the worst of it - no hair on top could conceivably have been my own choice 🤣

Guys think women are after money and material comfort. Most straight women I've spoken to aren't so much trying to gain money and status, but trying not to acquire a new dependent.

This agrees with what you can observe in Hollywood crowd scenes - they're usually between 1/6 and 1/3 women if you pause and count, and the rare movie that goes above 1/3 will have a bunch of people complaining about there being too many women.

I've read that in a hetero marriage the only time the woman will speak more words within the household than the man is when active childcare is happening. But men will view women as speaking more words if she speaks as little as 30% of the time - and they will view it as equal if she speaks 18%.
There's also the fact that men who attempt in the US frequently do so with guns (masculine coded) - which is a method more likely to succeed than poisons (feminine coded).
Getting guns out of houses would do a LOT to reduce the male suicide rate. It would also reduce the DV homicide rate - win/win

I don't think they live together - I suspect it's 8-10 dinners a month (and similar number of lunches). But there's still a massive labour component, not just the price of the groceries (which is already costing her more than the $60-$80 extra he's out each week shouting her meals out).
Also, people (men AND women) tend to blame women for staying one second longer than the first sign of trouble. Often on posts like this one you’ll get both “you should have left him yonks ago” and “it’s not fair to leave him now” - there’s no good choice, so she pretends this is the first sign.

Ugh. Different workloads and incomes can be tricky - but it's never BOTH "do more housework to make up for it" AND "pay 50% of the running costs of the household". It's a balance, ideally resulting in both people having equal free hours and free dollars - or pretty close.

I'm Australian and 6'1. When I visited the Netherlands, about 1 woman in 4 was my sort of height (or taller). Back home it's less than 1 in 100 (and is about 1 in 4 for men lol)
Another person, Alex Pretti, was killed by ICE agents today. Stephen Miller says he was a “terrorist” and an “assassin.” The Department of Homeland Security said that he approached ICE agents with a 9mm handgun and he wanted to “massacre law enforcement”. Videos from three angles show Alex, a 37 year old ICU nurse, holding his phone and his other hand empty. He may have been armed, which is legal in Minnesota, but his gun is never visible. An ICE agent shoves a woman to the ground. Alex tries to help her up but is pepper sprayed. He is pulled to the ground by three ICE agents and hit repeatedly with a pepper spray canister. More officers approach, some with guns drawn. An agent appears to be moving away from the scrum with a gun, possibly Alex’s. And then a shot is fired and then around ten more shots are fired by two officers. Again, I ask people who disagree with me on the politics of these things not whether you think the officers were justified or made an understandable mistake or should have been trained better. I ask you only whether you think it is acceptable for the leaders of our country to tell us careful, intentional, and obvious lies about people killed by ICE. And, if so, why?
