I think that part of the point is that non-toxic masculinity is *not* defined as being Things That Women Aren't.

Abusers have to have redeeming qualities, or they'd never find victims.

I'm sorry you were hurt by that man.

The way my wife explained it (I too had the knee-jerk "Why is he arrested for the lesser crime not the greater???") - the files are evidence that he probably committed the horrific stuff. But the files ARE him committing the intel crimes - it's a lighter lift.

I ride my bicycle on shared (bike and foot) paths. Young women with headphones in can *usually* hear me ring my bell and call out that I'm planning to pass them on the right; young men almost never hear me at all and often also meander from one side of the path to the other as I'm trying to pass.

Like a chemo patient. No eyebrows and no eyelashes were the worst of it - no hair on top could conceivably have been my own choice 🀣

They always do.

Hannah Gadsby had an amazing skit about how the problem is that there is a line between Good Men and Bad Men, and that it is always *men* who decide where that line is. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it:

Yeah, you missed the point. Sorry.

How is this erasing lesbians and trans women? If we have kids, we're mothers - this isn't specifying bio mums.

I'm the "default parent" in my house, but my wife does enough of her share of the work that she could never have a secret second family. I think you may have missed the true point...?

Guys think women are after money and material comfort. Most straight women I've spoken to aren't so much trying to gain money and status, but trying not to acquire a new dependent.

Truth! Justice! Freedom! Reasonably priced love!

..are facilitating, emotional labour intensive words (like you mentioned upthread) - of a woman's third of the conversation, up to half of that will be her doing the work of getting the man to speak.

It's fascinating and depressing.

This agrees with what you can observe in Hollywood crowd scenes - they're usually between 1/6 and 1/3 women if you pause and count, and the rare movie that goes above 1/3 will have a bunch of people complaining about there being too many women.

It also doesn't account for the number of words that..

I've read that in a hetero marriage the only time the woman will speak more words within the household than the man is when active childcare is happening. But men will view women as speaking more words if she speaks as little as 30% of the time - and they will view it as equal if she speaks 18%.

There's also the fact that men who attempt in the US frequently do so with guns (masculine coded) - which is a method more likely to succeed than poisons (feminine coded).

Getting guns out of houses would do a LOT to reduce the male suicide rate. It would also reduce the DV homicide rate - win/win

I mean... this makes sense, yes? He replies to all the obvious scammy pornbots, but he thinks they're real women, so he thinks all women want his money.

Those replies perfectly explain his obnoxious tweet lol

When Was Ada Lovelace Born? For those who think it's easier to annoy you than to Google 'When was ada lovelace born?' themselves.

Why would you assume that?

I dunno. There's a lot to hate about Zuck, but he seems to genuinely love his wife (who seems to genuinely love him too). I think he might be the only "too rich to exist" dude whose name wasn't in the Epstein files, too.

As I said, a lot to hate - but maybe not his love life.

And breakfasts! I missed that she's cooking him hot meals *3* times a day on weekends!

Assuming Friday dinner and all 3 meals Saturday and Sunday brings it to ~30 meals a month

I don't think they live together - I suspect it's 8-10 dinners a month (and similar number of lunches). But there's still a massive labour component, not just the price of the groceries (which is already costing her more than the $60-$80 extra he's out each week shouting her meals out).

Also, people (men AND women) tend to blame women for staying one second longer than the first sign of trouble. Often on posts like this one you’ll get both β€œyou should have left him yonks ago” and β€œit’s not fair to leave him now” - there’s no good choice, so she pretends this is the first sign.

My guess was 20-21 - old enough to have had one lease, not old enough to have navigated the end of lease stuff before.

But yeah, you're spot on. Dude loved having a shiny young girlfriend; didn't actually want her living with him; is now being very oblique about kicking her out. FAFO.

She's an ass, but she's an ass in a way thar comes across as young and immature (as well as a bit entitled). I suspect she's a full decade younger than him, and hopefully this experience will sour him on preying on younger women...

One can hope.

...and it's turned into 4 months and counting. She also doesn't say how long the relationship has been going on. It sounds like he doesn't believe they're at "live together" stage, that he thought he was helping her out, and that she's kind of immature.

She should still 100% break up with him, fwiw

I suspect this bloke is learning why it's a terrible idea to date outside your age range... OP doesn't state her age, but I'd be shocked if she were within a decade of the 32 of her boyfriend, just from her poor planning and entitlement.

She says explicitly he was helping her out for a few weeks...

Unfortunately the same account has posted about recently leaving their wife, about moving in with a partner 4 months ago, and about experiencing paranormal activity with a spouse who doesn't match any of the other 3 descriptions.

And that's just in the 24 hours before this post.

It's BS slop.

One of dad's mates had two pets that he used to discourage door-to-door evangelists.

One was a carpet python, which he would just drape around his shoulders before answering the door.

The other was the largest standard poodle you've ever seen, trained to jump and lick face on the command "Kill"

Ugh. Different workloads and incomes can be tricky - but it's never BOTH "do more housework to make up for it" AND "pay 50% of the running costs of the household". It's a balance, ideally resulting in both people having equal free hours and free dollars - or pretty close.

Girl - run!

Username sounds dutch - 5'10 is only slightly above average for a woman in the Netherlands.

I'm Australian and 6'1. When I visited the Netherlands, about 1 woman in 4 was my sort of height (or taller). Back home it's less than 1 in 100 (and is about 1 in 4 for men lol)

Another person, Alex Pretti, was killed by ICE agents today. Stephen Miller says he was a β€œterrorist” and an β€œassassin.” The Department of Homeland Security said that he approached ICE agents with a 9mm handgun and he wanted to β€œmassacre law enforcement”.

Videos from three angles show Alex, a 37 year old ICU nurse, holding his phone and his other hand empty. He may have been armed, which is legal in Minnesota, but his gun is never visible. An ICE agent shoves a woman to the ground. Alex tries to help her up but is pepper sprayed. He is pulled to the ground by three ICE agents and hit repeatedly with a pepper spray canister. More officers approach, some with guns drawn. An agent appears to be moving away from the scrum with a gun, possibly Alex’s.

And then a shot is fired and then around ten more shots are fired by two officers.

Again, I ask people who disagree with me on the politics of these things not whether you think the officers were justified or made an understandable mistake or should have been trained better. I ask you only whether you think it is acceptable for the leaders of our country to tell us careful, intentional, and obvious lies about people killed by ICE.

And, if so, why?

In comments, the daughter is in therapy because of "our relationship". She should have left him years ago and hopefully this shift actually makes the split stick.
