What Trump's tariffs will mean for your wallet One forecast estimates Trump's tariffs will cut household purchasing power by $1,000 a year.

Economists almost universally agree that the tariffs imposed by President Trump will cost the average American household hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars every year in higher goods costs.

My chart for the Globe. TL;dr - birth rates in Canada rose when we had aggressive income redistribution, high taxation, big infrastructure spending, strong unions, and loads of new housing development. Absent those factors, birth rates have always fallen.

I find zero value in celebrity culture until we get to Keri Russell, who doesn't hop on a bike for the "look at me" photo shoot, but rather lives the bikes-for-transportation lifestyle in Brooklyn NY.

How Paris Pulled Off What New York and London Can Only Dream About One parking structure pivoted to growing mushrooms and endives.

β€œA car-choked capital is transforming before our eyes, the dream of urbanites around the world who are eager to reassess the automobile’s dominant role in the city. The question posed by [Paris] transcends the daily debate over bicycles & cars. It is nothing less than this: Who is the city for?”

Urban Minded | Henning Larsen As designers of urban spaces that are intended to reflect and cater to everyone, we pose the question: How can the design of urban spaces support the well-being of teenage girls?

How do teenage girls experience the city?

Few ask the question.

This great project seeks to answer it, and see how we can make cities better for them.

This coming from O’Leary who couldn’t even compel conservatives to make him leader of the party in Canada and now thinks he has some kind of pulse on Canadians.

I’m trying to think why Americans would think Canadians would ever want to become the β€œ51st state”? Is it the school shootings? The lack of access to abortion? The lower literary rates? The greater income inequality? The healthcare debt? Or maybe the shorter life expectancy?

Someone needs to be tasked with watching for posts on #duvetknowitschristmas on twitter and threads and making sure we see them on Bluesky. Anyone up for that?
