So many app landing pages are just like “for the AI cloud” and I’m like oh okay thanks for clearing that up. 🙂
Vibe coding isn’t inherently bad, but I suspect it’s generating “legacy code” at a much higher rate than we ever have before.
And if vibe coding potentially encourages code illiteracy, who will fix all that legacy code when it’s running major systems and inevitably needs fixing?
I wonder if vibe coding will make traditional coders more valuable in the future. It seems every time we climb the ladder of abstraction - transistors, assembly, C, the web, etc - people skilled in the lower level sometimes become more valuable or specialized.

its just this really strange fundamental misunderstanding of art and expression. the bizarre idea (usually from those without the capacity to find their own inner artist) thinking THE ULTIMATE PAINTER would no longer have to paint but instead have a room full of finished works
ai art is like being a runner and youre excited for a marathon and youre training and then someone comes up and says 'why not use this new 'car tech' it can drive you to the finish line and youll have run the marathon without that pesky running'. then theyre confused when you say no and run instead
