The rest of their WV town doesn’t quite see it like Waylon does. To them, he’s just a victim to the insanity that has infected plenty of the Sayers that came before him. But he isn’t crazy. Not when there’s at least a dozen missing people. Not in a town with a population of less than two hundred.
Waylon Sayer was a detective. When his little sister went missing and he had his ‘nervous breakdown’, as the shrink put it, he had been placed on indefinite medical leave. That doesn’t matter to Waylon, though. He must be a detective, or accept his sister is gone for good and that he can’t do.
