The first 200 residents to enroll in the pilot will receive a free five-gallon composting bucket to participate in the program, which kicks off Aug. 21.
Air pollution contributes to asthma and other harmful illnesses in children and adults. Detroit needs significant investment in non-motorized transportation made possible also by increasing density and access to essential services close to where people live and public mass transportation.

Fun Fact: Ever heard of GO Transit Detroit/Windsor Line? This line was proposed in 1989 by the Think Rail Group, as apart of a larger proposal for rail transportation in Ontario.
The first phase of this plan recommended transferring all VIA Rail service running within Ontario to GO Transit.
So let me get this straight: The "Save the Bricks" people lost, but in part because of their campaign the public transit got cut. And that didn't even save any bricks? Great.

I struggle to square these headlines with the lack of interest in making it easier for people to travel along this corridor.
The D2A2 is a small start but it can only be reasonable as a point to point service. Dearborn, Ypsilanti and other communities also need to be included.
