For that matter, the Black Capped Chickadee and Dark Eyed Juncos are more prevalent in WA than Goldfinch. Genuinely curious about this.
Why is the goldfinch the state bird of Washington and not the actual ruler of the skies, the crow? In eight years, I’ve never seen a goldfinch in Western WA, but there are crows that I’m pretty sure are stalking me.
