We occasionally get Fen fogs in Norfolk or Coastal fogs in Devon which can be very atmospheric, but they don’t last for long (thank goodness).

β€œThis is the seal of Richard Auncell, Prior of St Michael's Mount from 1385 to 1410. It would have been used to authenticate Priory documents. Richard Auncell was the first English prior during the long period, starting in the 11th century, that the Mount belonged to Mont-St-Michel in Normandy.
The seal was discovered during building work at Exeter Cathedral in the 1840s and subsequently given to Syon Abbey for safekeeping. Syon Abbey had owned the Mount from 1415, when Henry the Fifth confiscated it from Mont-St-Michel, until the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry the Eighth 120 years later.
When Syon Abbey itself closed in 2011, the Abbess kindly gave the seal to St Michael's Mount and it returned home after 6 centuries.”

We loved the exhibition for the art, but also for learning so much more about Beryl’s life.
The four larger than life statues of characters from Beryl’s paintings are fun to locate on the streets of Plymouth.
