The appeal seems to be not unlike the one of Battletech.

Lovely and juicy dreadnought! The colours are spot on!
Attempted this colour scheme myself a while back - had a lot of fun π, but struggled with the right shade of red.

Thematically something reasonably flat and greyish with spots of earth and minimal vegetation on the edges could work for urban, outdoor and a not well maintained spaceship. Maybe this could be implemented by first putting sand/stones on the base and then flattening with polyfilla and spatula?
Thanks! Much appreciated!
With a lot of hollows like this the model doesnβt really seem to lend itself to going all out, however, I do hope to have some fun painting it.
Letβs see if my enthusiasm still holds once I approach masking π

Some progress on this weird space marine.

A few new things for #Battletech in progress.
Sounds like a wonderful event! Thanks for the report!
The daylight should, of course, be blocked off to keep the lighting consistent throughout the game.
havenβt done any video, only a bit of miniature photography.
But I would guess that you need both dispersed top-down light (to avoid stark shadows) and some side lights as well. For a small skirmish table you might be able to get away with a large crafting LED lamp and a few small LED side lights.
