I try to sprinkle the dots erratically, no pattern as that ruins the effect, of course you have to leave gaps to show the base color, and voila, gabby style nips!

Well if it helps

I make dots of 3 colors, a base color, a highlight and a shadow

I start with a big circle around the nipple, in the base color

Then i sprinkle them around the nipple to make the aerola

And then i use a color mixing tool in a circular motion, but trying not to mix too much
