Unpopular opinion, but a lot of this "doing it right" mentality is how we wind up with games all feeling the exact same.

Difficulty spikes, weird controls, ropey onboarding all of it critical to prevent games feeling like they're ground down and pumped out safe mush.

being a carless american is awesome. financial harm caused by rising oil prices won't directly effect me, and secondary effects aren't something we are trained to think about. when the time comes i'll just blame the rising prices i do experience on supernatural causes. maybe goblins

like i get the concept of “playersexual” & that gender locking romance routes alienates players & i’m not against it. but you don’t have to make a character’s sexual orientation ambiguous to accomplish that when bisexuality literally exists & is far more common than most realize.

It would be really dope if more romancable NPCs in video games actually referred to themselves as bisexual if they can be romanced by a player of any gender.

if every AAA studio pivoted to single player campaigns where the protagonist is a hot man who the marketing team sluts out for the girls/gays/theys i think we can save the industry

listen i love ao3 as much as the next guy but ive seen people quit fic writing over the past few years because people comment and engage with authors way less, and then everyone still freaks out when ao3 goes down- if a fic is irreplaceable to u, let the author know!
