Your painting likely will look ugly at some point in the process, and that's natural! This medium is built for layering. Just trust the process and proceed. The end result will surprise you.

Thanks! I find the most important things to be using good paper and water control. Knowing what to do depending on the level of wetness on the paper is the key. There are many good YouTube videos on this topic
