I am basking in the the afterglow of #minnebar19. I mourn the sessions that I missed and cherish the conversations that I had.

Please take a moment to support my Trans, Non-Binary, and Women friends who are a part of WHAM. This year I became a USA Hockey Level 1 Certified Official to support this great community and I will get my Level 2 to level up for them. It should remain a safe space for all players. chng.it/nVQBjzzP59

Happy Valentine's!
While shopping at IKEA, there was a lady wearing corpse paint! It was on brand, happy new year!
As I have started officiating this year I have found that the officials in different leagues have different standards. It is frustrating to figure out the balance.
There are vast differences in play in the high, mid, and low levels of the leagues that I have supported. High and mid levels are easier to make calls because the skills around movement is much more under control. If two people have contact and one falls it does demand action until there is thought.
I don't like officials that need to make a call if someone falls down. It negates competitive contact. It encourages people to skate at levels that are above their ability. Players become less safe.
As a new official I am trying to understand the behaviors and skills of each level.
Worried for all my friends and former co-workers in the L.A. area. What a nightmare.
First day back in the office this year. I felt like a meteor going through the atmosphere. Time to reflect with the help of spring rolls.
My Strava activities have all been hockey, for a while. I am horrible at getting them started at the right time and ending at the right time. I could be doing better at tracking data.
I play adult hockey, but I am not there for the drama.
What a nightmare to look at this via the iPad app. . .
Starting to figure this out. Glad to see some familiar faces.
