That's all for now! Please tell all the TTRPG sickos in your life about The Awards so that we get lots of opinionated judges and weird little games for them to sink their teeth into
And what do you win? Well a snazzy little logo that says you won, plus a digital winner's package of all the submissions that opted into participating!
We are working behind the scenes to facilitate getting reviews made of the winners, but this is very much tbd
Submitters are limited to 2 submissions or 50 pages of material, whichever limit is hit first. If you submit one item of more than 50 pages, the judges are only obligated to read 50 pages' worth (presumably the first 50, but they can choose what they want to read so make sure it's all good)
Submissions are open May 1-31, and must adhere to the following criteria:
- published June 1, 2024-May 31, 2025
- available in English
- use no AI/LLM in any part
- not have raised >US$100,000 in a crowdfunding campaign
Judge self-noms are open April 1-30 to all interested English-speaking/reading parties. I really do desperately wish that we could be more than an English-based awards show, but there's only so much that can be done for a project based in the US with essentially no budget.
These new visuals also come along with an updated website, complete with guidelines for becoming a judge or submitting material for consideration. Watch this space for when those forms open up!

Banner reading "The Awards 2026." The background is black, and the words are framed by a blue-silver border with multiple stacked lines at the top and bottom. The words themselves have a staticky, VHS quality to them as though they're on an old TV screen
First and most importantly: we finally have new visuals! Designed by the incredible @dngnclub.itch.io, these glitchy, static-y, very mildly unsettling images could grace YOUR ttrpg thing if you win one of The Awards 2026
My final Design Diary for The Awards 2026 is live, and it's really not even a design diary. I'm just making some final decisions and gathering all of my thoughts for what The Awards will look like when it launches next month

Behold, data nerds, I have tabulated Evil Hat's crowdfunding data (launch date, total funding, backer counts, some adjustment for inflation, etc) from 2012 through to a couple hours ago. Check the tabs along the bottom* to get at some graphs/pivot tables. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
once again I reiterate that I have never found a more effective barometer for "is this space safe for my fat cis body" than "show me your specific policies for creating a safe space for trans bodies"
it has a 100% success rate everywhere from doctors to waxing to clothing-optional soaking pools
I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves. Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone. That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins. If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after. Sahar Delijani, Iranian author
I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own governmentβs repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.
I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.
Sahar Delijani said it best:
Don't miss the news that an Israeli missile destroyed an Iranian girls' primary school, murdering at least 25 girls between 7 and 12 years old. At this point it might just be muscle memory for the Israeli military.

Holds up
This is for myself.
I have tended to avoid talking about my personal life on BlueSky much, but I was in the hospital at the beginning of the month after several months of increasing illness.
I've lost two sources of income and am trying to make up for back rent and utilities.
"Trans rights are human rights" has never been more important than right now.
The Kansas GOP overrode the Governor's veto to enable this. If they can willfully do it to one group, they can do it to ANY group.
Onfimβs drawing of himself on horseback as a warrior defeating an enemy.
Two of Onfimβs works. On the left is a copy of a passage from the Book of Psalms he did for schoolwork. On the right is an apparently autobiographical depiction of a monster labeled with βI am a wild beast.β
Some more spelling practice by Onfim with some human figures who have round heads and varying numbers of fingers on their big hands.
Onfimβs writing practice accompanied by 7 little people in his particular drawing style, who tend to have very big hands with many fingers.
Nice AI-image-generating tool, but it will never be as great an artist as Onfim, a child who lived in the Novgorod Republic in the mid-1200s and who scribbled these drawings and schoolwork writings on birch bark at the age of 6 or 7.

The Spire awakens once more in Steam Early Access on March 5, 2026! βοΈ
New characters, enemies, environments & more await you in Slay the Spire 2, the sequel to the iconic roguelike deckbuilder.
Will you attempt the climb alone... or enlist the aid of your fellow adventurers?
I feel like thereβs a truer answer than this but the first thing that comes to mind is Wonka
I understand why prison abolition is controversial but I donβt think you can get away from the fact that the most passionate prison abolitionists work closely with incarcerated people or were incarcerated themselves. The more you know about the logistics of incarceration the more you hate it.
This is @glutelord.bsky.social and he's completely fucking correct. The fundamental tension at the heart of all incel culture is that these guys HATE women and refuse to appeal to them but desperately want to get laid anyway, and this contradiction can only really be resolved through violence
I hope New Yorkers will challenge Mamdani about this. Too often, people feel they need to be absolutely for or against a politician β ignoring their missteps or throwing them out with the bathwater. You can like and/or believe in someone and still challenge them to deliver on their promises.
hi can I interest you in a blessed paradise whose hunger only sacrifice can appease? a desperate community insisting on ancient tradition & terrible necessity? a game played without dice or a GM, driven by a bloody oracle deck & a biting token economy?
anyway if you like the wicker man play HARVEST
