JDS is pleased to announce a series of ‘Conversations on Disappearances'. These workshop and networking events are designed to develop thematic discussions about disappearances, create a network of scholars and practitioners working on disappearance and develop potential submissions to the Journal.

Building on critiques of DNA as a ‘technology of repair’ in post-conflict contexts, the article examines how new methods – particularly the use of commercial genealogy databases – are shifting the boundaries of identification work.
