Never!
Baseball is so much better with people dancing and singing and banging on drums throughout the whole game. A better world is possible.

The US is awful at road safety.
A new report from the OECD shows that Americans are >2x as likely to die in a collision compared to those in peer countries.
The US is such an outlier that the OECD now aggregates crash data both with and without the US included.

Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now

Pedestrian signs on the walk to the grocery store
The sidewalk gloves persist.
Felt like I spent about half of my walk yesterday trying to find a bathroom.
I find it interesting how old urbanism is unmatched in terms of the joy of just being in a complex, evolved, organic place, but private suburban properties are often the least frictional places to just do your business, of any sort.

A photo of a gray wood frame two story house from around the turn of the 20th century, with an enclosed front porch and a tall roof pitch. Hedges line the front, and the backs of nearby homes can be seen from an alley off to the side of the property.
A dining room inside features old carpet, lots of wooden furnishings dating from the late 19th through mid 20th centuries, and other vintage features like a big lacy tablecloth and a brass wall clock.
A kitchen with old linoleum tiles features mostly midcentury fittings and fixtures, including its cabinets, sink, and oven. The fridge appears newer, a basic white fridge from the '90s or later.
A bathroom under part of a roof peak is trimmed with white and blue tiles, and features a matching turquoise finished bathtub, toilet, and sink as well as a midcentury metal wall-mounted mirror and medicine cabinet.

A photograph of a Cannondale Neo Compact bicycle under a highway overpass that crosses the Truman Linear Park Trail in Savannah, Georgia.
Here's a cool feature on the new phase of Savannah's Truman Linear Park Trail: A rain shelter. Some might say it's a tad overbuilt, but I was grateful for it when it started raining this afternoon.
Is it so very difficult to keep public washrooms open through the winter?
