Octopath Traveler is such my vibe. Taking 8 vignettes and tying them into mechanically one rpg is my kind of game. The problem is how much pressure it puts on the writing. Every Vignette has to be at least interesting for that idea to stick. Not the case through the 1st set of chapters.

The Bears exist to cause the city of Chicago anxiety.

Put on the Friends at the table sonic adventure stream archive as background while I worked this morning. Ended up enthralled and cheering as they tried to get out of a broken sewer.

Finally feel good about the Bears on the field so of course they got to remind us all why they suck at running a sports team. Just baffling incompetence for decades at the top.

Turns out RE7 is a pretty good horror game! No idea why the last hour is linear combat arenas but fully understand why it kind of saved the series.

Really think the funniest thing in FFX is how many times you have to kill Seymour. Like you kill him then two hours later we have to fight you again?! I’m supposed to be impressed you keep getting your ass kicked?

Rocking the mustache for the holidays. Want to watch my Dad get increasingly upset while I refuse to shave it off.

Every robot delivery machine I see rolling around my neighborhood makes me so upset. It just blocks sidewalks and beeps! Doesn’t seem effective on top of being very off putting.

Fangraphs really is worth every penny. Next year’s goal is to mess with the leaderboards a whole lot more!

Finally committing to finish RE 1 (2002) and man what a stressful video game. Absolutely loving it but I really feel like I’m about to lose so much progress every time I enter a new room. Crimson heads are such a fuck you (complimentary).

The mundane sleuthing of The Roottrees are Dead works way too well on me. In an ideal world I would spend all day researching and putting things on a big board.

Just absolutely flew through ff tactics. I just love a little tactics rpg. Have some story issues, especially with Delita. Also don’t like how often they default to big over powered boss in the last few chapters. Otherwise though I had a fantastic time.

Fuwamoco doing a members only Lost in Translation watchalong on Thanksgiving is actually crazy. Those two work on a level I’ll never understand.

Ceci is a great vtuber because she never shuts up and is always riffing.

The real monkey’s paw of Clair Obscure breaking big, is having to listen to games podcasts with people who haven’t touched that type of rpg since the 90s. It’s like listening to your uncle talk hoops and he hasn’t really watched since Jordan retired.

Currently in the Labyrinth in the Silent Hill 2 remake, and my biggest issue is the combat puzzle balance. Locations are fantastic. Music is fantastic. Really liking the story. I’m even good with the backtracking. I’m just so done with the little enemies at this point. I want more bad vibes puzzles!
