So the “regime change” angle didn’t play out?

One suspects that even Mr. Vance understands what targeting civilians implies….

“Destabilisation”, or chaos as we might more commonly call it lies right beside extortion as Mr. Trump’s favorite tools.

Regime change is illegal. No one stopped either of the ones Trump has already committed. He might as well keep going until someone stops him.

It is as if those who know how stuff actually works in our government and abroad have no access to Trump to educate him or train him on what to do.
Of course they could all be gone by now, replaced by Trump’s usually bad hiring choices…

So, a regime-change war officially accomplished nothing. Too bad they didn’t consider that this was an outcome they would likely face.

Trump’s only “pluses” were the market and gas prices.
Well the markets are rapidly losing whatever value they gained under Trump, and now gas prices are rising. Oil is at $80 a barrel. When it hits $100, gas, on average, will be $5. Predictions are oil could see $120 a barrel Do the math….

They own this whole disaster then.

However, attacking Iran without considering or being honest about the impact on the price of oil, 1/5th of which passes through the Strait of Hormuz was a controllable consideration.
Oil at $100+ a barrel is recession territory.

Well, he’s gambling that that vast majority of Americans will embrace ever higher tariffs and corresponding import prices and higher gas prices while the market loses whatever gains it made last year.He gave the rich obscene tax cuts and is spending $1 billion a day for his latest war.

Oddly, just as his supporters now seem to like higher tariff-induced prices, we may find they love more expensive gas. The hazards of applying logic to otherwise cultish behavior.

They had to bomb the program he said was “obliterated” just 7 months ago. “Imminent threats” or illegal regime change? This time they assassinated the Ayatollah. They know Iran has more in the wings, right?

“Imminent threats” they cannot illuminate or that anyone can believe. They used the logic of Bush II and the tactics and ethics of Putin to conduct war in the names of the citizens of the United States of America against Iran. This will go as well as Iraq or Ukraine because of intellectual laziness.

From the looks of him, and the bizarre and crazy things he says and does, I think Trump needs to worry more about lasting to the midterms never mind 2028.
The Republican Party needs to figure out Trump may successfully destroy them politically in a matter of months at his current rate of burn.
