There is no funnier train station sign than "Cambridge home of Anglia Ruskin University". Everytime I see it I'm impressed all over again at the level of trolling.

Once again I'll be pounding the streets of Cambridge this Sunday in the half marathon (for the 9th time!). As always, I'm keen to use the opportunity to raise some money for @romseymill.bsky.social - so I'd be delighted if you could donate via my JustGiving page... Thanks! ππ»ββοΈ

Oh. There it is.
You can just make out the painted-on cycle lane on the eastern section of Cherry Hinton Road in that cycling city of Cambridge. This is what happens when local councils are chronically underfunded and have no powers to tax excess wealth generated here. (ARM have their HQ half a mile down the road)

Curious as to why my local Tesco Express consider Tipp-Ex a good item to sell in a convenience store. I mean, does anyone still use it? And why would you need 3 bottles at once? π€ I have some which I bought last millenniumβ¦

Tweet from @tomgara Randomly on this subject, my (Egyptian) wife had never heard of Stonehenge when I mentioned it recently, so I showed her photos of it, assuming sheβd recognise the look but not the name etc, and she was just like, this is pathetic, your ancestors were small and weak

On a dull day with no watchers to help the way to spot #Cambridge King's Parade Peregrines has to be to check for symmetry of pinnacles! #UKWildlife

I donβt know about you, but Iβm still listening to Christmas songs. π
The norm these days seems to be to abandon Christmas after Boxing Day. As a kid I always celebrated until the new year. Donβt let the world try and force you forwards if youβre still happy to celebrate. ππ
It looks like Father Christmas shares your concerns, to judge by the letter he left in our house:

Not the most important issue ofc, but crazy how hard it is to pick up at Cambridge station. Hardly any pick up spaces, and those signed as 5 mins only (though website says 20) or fine; no give way marks between taxi & pick up lines, & terrible signage -> easy to get fine for entering guided bus zone
