I've been pretty quiet about it, but I got a bit of pretty rough news recently about a close family member. It's not anything I want to talk about at length, if I've been a little distant from my normal haunts, this is partially why.
How many times do we have to tell businesses/services/conventions etc that we don't want genAI? How many times will they backtrack before they get the fucking point and stop including it in the first place?

I do pixel art and so badly want to make a little game, just to cut my teeth on it. I want to have everything in the style and color scheme of this sprite I made of a a fish folk.
-From a normally very stoic acquaintance "you look like if a deer was also an elf"

To be kind, to actually care about other people, spits in the face of tyranny. It is the ultimate form of protest against injustices, to give a shit about other people, even if only a little. It really is that simple.
Human civilization was initially built on a foundation of empathy- complex language, medicine, agriculture all group efforts unachievable without empathy, without a basic drive to help one another.
We need too keep this in mind moving forward or we will destroy ourselves.
