Lifeforce is well worth a watch. I saw it again a year or so ago on Tubi or something, and it held up surprisingly well.

Got up to see it but saw only clouds. Disappointing, because earlier, around sunset, we'd seen the full moon rise in glorious clarity for an hour as we drove home from Silver Falls. But I do love clouds and rain, so I shouldn't complain.
Just an absolutely fascinating Glacial Errata today. Woodworking, military history, Sebald, rabbit holes--what a great way to start a week.
Katie Miller @KatieMiller In times of split second decision making by our nationβs top leaders β itβs clear which AI our military should be using. Truth-seeking is @grok βs best feature.
Grok answer yes, ChatGPT no, Gemini gives mushy "valid arguments on both sides," Claude refuses to take a side in "an ongoing political debate."
Notable how all four LLMs failed to provide a useful answer, much less an expert-level one. They didn't even provide info to help the user. Grok & ChatGPT wrongly accepted the simplified yes/no framing. Gemini gave a mushy both-sides. Claude refused to discuss "politics."
These are toys, not tools.

Thanks to Michael and Gina of @birdallianceoregon.bsky.social for a great birding walk at Elrod Slough this morning, and to Slough Fest for promoting awareness of the Columbia Slough and its branches, an urban water world that supports a lot of wildlife and deserves continued protection.
Duck Duck Go has worked well for me for some time and lets you turn off or block ai search results and images.
For the first time since @projectsaltbox.bsky.social launched their DHS warehouse acquisition tracker, the number of canceled sales is higher than any of the other warehouse-related figures. We've reached a tipping point, folks.

I can, and I don't want it.
This is a mental war that we have to win. It's not about being a luddite, it's about destroying or retaining the ability to think. It's about how insidious this becomes in a situation where generative AI is adopted and then subverted intentionally.

They lost me when they didn't bump rush Patel out of their locker room.

Sure son.
Wow!
Like fine beadwork with crystal beads.
Not really blinds, exactly, because no camo, etc, but rather open shelters where you can sit and observe the scene.
Actually they sound a lot like the birding blinds you find in places like Smith and Bybee Lakes in NoPo.
Should be doable.
They sound cool.
May OP never have an animal in her life.
What a good dog!
New from me: It's time to get rid of networked cameras.
