An important channel for macro uncertainty is the interplay of financial & labor markets.

Uncertainty exerts downward pressure on asset values, discouraging vacancy posting and making it harder for workers to find jobs. Potentially inflationary.

Colourful autumnal trees along a path in University Parks, Oxford UK.

Returned to my alma mater for the weekend. Little has changed since I started my graduate studies in 2016; it's still beautiful in the autumn, my favourite cafe is thriving, and social science students are debating "how the Democrats recover from this"

For the very little it's worth, so hatte ich diese Passage ebenfalls interpretiert. (Wobei diese Argumentation ja nur innerhalb einer anti-realist Perspektive รผberzeugend ist? Genealogie ist hilfreich weil sie รผber die Funktion und *daher* รผber die Rechtfertigung Auskunft gibt?)

โ“ What is the impact of "short-termism" for firms and the economy?

๐Ÿ‘‰ Terry (2023, @ecmaEditors) argues that even though for *firms*, short-term profit pressures can improve value by restricting R&D, at the *aggregate* level, it tends to lower growth and social welfare.
