These reps don't deserve the privilege and honor of representing you, and they don't deserve your vote.
If your congressional rep was one of the people who voted against this... well, I don't imagine you are on BlueSky, but if you were, I would suggest to you that this is hard evidence that your rep does not care even the tiniest bit about you, your family, or anyone who flies in US airspace.
This is so embarrassing!
I have lived here my whole long life & I have never been to Lincoln Park.

Where is that moral leadership right now?
THAT WE ARE HERE AND STRONG ENOUGH TO PROTECT EACH OTHER.
It was imperfect, no doubt, but what a moment in history, for a bunch of competing nations with shared (as well as opposing) interests to say - we need to put all of that aside and work together to be sure that this kind of cruelty and madness doesn't happen again.
I have been thinking a lot about the establishment of the war crimes tribunal after the Second World War in Nuremberg and all the work that was done to say no, we are better than this and we do not treat people this way.
who among the rich and powerful is making sure that the rest of us are okay?
I am so worried about the rest of us right now. The ones who don't have inheritances and brashness and exceptionality. The ones who are really busy taking care of loved ones and life issues, the ones who do not have the blessings of robust mental and physical health.
where is the idea that part of having the gift of being exceptional is that you need to dedicate some effort to taking care of your entire society? making sure that people who are unexceptional - you know, normal people - are also able to live safely and with the freedoms we say we value?
not a giant house or many of them, or private jets or whatever. just basic things to live.
what happens to people who are not brilliant in the way the world wants to pay for, who do not have skills the market needs? these people (me included) still need those basic human dignity and safety things.
and yet we do all need safe housing, health care, food, cash to pay our taxes, and the public services and infrastructure those taxes fund. so... what happens to the 99%, or the 90%, or whatever?
at the heart of the US lies this idea that we reward people for excellence. the big problem with that is what happens to the people who are not deemed excellent. we cannot all be above average.

Satellite map showing green lake way cutting a wide diagonal across the street grid.
My favorite solution to this intersection: Delete Green Lake Way from Stone to 46th. It causes more problems for every road user than it solves. Yes, even car drivers. Then restore the street grid and using the reclaimed public land for housing.
A seemingly small change by the U.S. Postal Service could have major consequences for Native voters. By shortening the window for when mail-in ballots are postmarked, the new rule threatens to further disenfranchise Native communities already facing significant voting barriers: buff.ly/LwdZgtn

A reminder to all those in Washington, D.C: no one is above the law
βAcross Indian Country, we are seeing Native American people illegally stopped, abused, or detained by ICE agents. It is hard to miss the irony of locking up the first people of this land in an immigration sweep.β -- NARF Executive Director John Echohawk buff.ly/yl1iQdA
