NYCβs economy is strong and revenues are up, but we canβt ignore the warning signs. Job growth has stalled outside of home healthcare aides and social services. We need action now to retain talent, connect people to good-paying jobs, and build an economy that grows for everyone.
100% affordable housing. You read that right. We just broke ground on Timbale Terrace at 118th & Park in East Harlem. A parking lot will be a mixed-use building w/ 340 affordable homes, including nearly 100 supportive housing units. It took about 2.5 years to get from approvals to groundbreaking.
Tapping into our reserves or raising property taxes would only deepen the affordability crisis many New Yorkers are already facing.
The city needs to focus on efficiencies and savings to help balance the budget.
